Over the past week I have been posting daily updates onto my Facebook page, and now that I'm back in Melbourne I can finally post them all on here as well.
I'd just like to make a quick post before I begin uploading all of my blog updates from my trip to thank everyone involved :)
On behalf of not only myself, but every student and chaperone on the Gallipoli 2015 trip, I'd like to thank the Victorian and Australian governments for funding us to go and represent the country at such an incredible event. It has honestly been the greatest experience of my life, and I sincerely thank each and every person who allowed me to be involved with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I have learnt so much about the war and Turkish culture (I can now safely say that I can eat soup "the Turkish way"), and I have made so many great friends that I will stay in contact with forever.
I'd like to thank both Mentone Girls' Secondary College and John Monash Science School for supporting my endeavours in relation to this opportunity and helping me to promote my journey.
As well as this, I'd also like to thank Karin and Jacqui for being fantastic chaperones for Group 1, and to all of the other chaperones who ensured that every student remained safe and got the most out of the opportunity that we were given.
I'd also like to thank my family for my being my biggest supporters and encouraging me to do my best, and also for coming to the airport to pick me up at 1am when we actually didn't arrive till after 2am. I couldn't have experienced the amazing things that I now have without them and their limitless love and support.
It has been an incredible journey, and if you haven't already read the blogs on my Facebook page, I will be posting them all onto here by the end of tonight!
Bronte :)
